Computational Design applied to Structural Engineering
AMetric is a professional practice specialized in parametric structural design and bespoke software. The studio works with engineering and architecture firms looking to bring advanced computational tools into their workflows — from the development of parametric models to the automation of analysis and optimization processes.

My professional path
From 2016 to 2024 I collaborated with leading engineering firms in Milano, including Redesco Progetti, Freyssinet and Pini Group, designing reinforced-concrete and steel structures to Eurocodes and NTC:
- residential and industrial buildings
- viaducts and cut-and-cover tunnels
- retaining works
- seismic protection devices
Over the past 10 years I have specialized in developing software and automation tools — in Matlab, Python, VBA and Rhino/Grasshopper — for 3D modeling, structural checks, laboratory test-data analysis, FEM-BIM integration (Midas Gen, Revit, Tekla, IFC) and the automated drawing of complex geometries.
As a computational design specialist with Grasshopper and an authorized trainer ART (Authorized Rhino Trainer), I collaborate with several universities, including Politecnico di Milano, teaching parametric modeling courses.
In 2023 I published the monograph Parametric Experiments in Architecture. A Connection Joint Design for Sustainable Structures in Bamboo with Springer, exploring form-finding and digital fabrication techniques.
Since 2024 I work as a freelance engineer registered with the Order of Engineers of the Province of Como, focusing on structural design and bespoke software development for engineering.
